Canon A560
The Canon power shot A560 some how resembles a digital SLR camera. The power shot A560 is a 7 mega pixel camera which has a four time zoom lens the zoom can also be increased by using a feature called safety zoom. The 91.2 x 64.0 x 43.1 mm camera which weighs around 165 grams is too large to fit in a pocket and requires a case to be kept in. All of the cables needed to transfer the data to the PC are provided in the box. Although the Canon A560 is not one of the cheapest cameras available in the market, but the picture quality of the photos taken by this camera is far more superior when compared to that taken by the cheaper cameras.
The Canon A560 has a 2.5” LCD screen, bigger than that of the cannon 550 (2.0”) which is made up of 115,000 pixels. The camera has an in built flash light which has auto, on and off modes. The flash light works up till the distance of 3.5m which reduces to 2.2m when the zoom lens is in use. An external flash unit can be bought to boost up the power of the flash. There is a noticeable delay in taking photographs when the flash light is in use, a photo can be taken in half a second without the flash light while it takes 1.95 seconds to take a photo with the help of the flash light. The Canon A560 camera runs on standard AA batteries, an average of 150 photos can be taken with a pair of batteries. These batteries are available in almost every where and chargeable batteries will further reduce the cost of buying new batteries every time.
Scene mode can be can be adjusted on this camera to foliage, snow, fireworks, indoor, beach, night scene, indoor, aquarium, night snap shot, landscape and portrait. Color options such as white and black, custom, vivid, neutral and sepia are also available. The shutter speed can be adjusted in the range of 15- 1/2000 seconds. A standard movie can be recorded at the speed of 30 frames a second and at the resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The duration of a standard movie can stretch up till four gigabytes, sound and zoom are also available during the recording. A 16mb memory card is supplied with the camera, which will not prove sufficient in the long run, so a SD card with a higher capacity would have to be used, even SDHC cards can be used. Photographs can be taken in quick succession at the speed of 1.7 frames per second. The timer is available if the photographer wants to appear in the photograph.
The Canon A560 is an excellent camera which is very easy to use, although the camera costs more than the other cheaper digital cameras, but better quality makes spending the extra money on the camera worth it.
