Looking at photo quality of the A720, with no zoom used this provides excellent performance and successfully overcomes all the deficiencies usually present in a digital camera. Outdoor photos with zoom are well focused with sharpness maintained even towards the edges. Under the glare of the sun the photos may encounter some loss of details. Colour balance in the A720 is well maintained irrespective of weather the shots are taken indoors or outdoors. In dim lighting the camera adjusts well to the situation producing well focused shots with flash turned on but one might find the pictures a bit on the dark side. There might be a hint of red-eye but this can be removed easily by the help of red eye retouch tool. Macro shots taken from this camera are best described as exceptional. They are well focused and sharpness is maintained all through the picture. The camera not so surprisingly manages to perform better than most other cameras while using the ISO mode. Pictures taken with ISO 400 have low noise interference but the picture quality does fall down drastically with the use of ISO 1600. Overall this one is surely looking like a winner when the quality of pictures is taken into consideration.
