Canon S5 IS
Canon, the leading company in manufacturing of cameras recently announced the launch of the 12x optical zooming along with 8.0 Megapixels PowerShot S5. This new camera boasts of optical Image Stabilizer technology
The Canon S5 has Canon’s DIGIC III. Its face detection technology provides good focus, wide exposure and a decent flash. The new Red-Eye Correction feature efficiently solves red-eye problems in many captured images. Supports the optical IS system is supported by an improved sensitivity range of ISO 80-1600. Other major changes include a larger, higher resolution 2.5” vari-angle LCD, additional shooting modes and extended video recording. Adding to the accessory list are Wide, Tele and Close-up converter lenses.
The device is loaded with the state of an art technology in the case of lens. The Image Stabilizer technology suppresses blur when taking stills and reduces image shake when shooting video footage. The Ultra Sonic Motor (USM) delivers fast zooming with an extremely silent operation. Canon’s DIGIC III processor has many new features engineered for better output of photos. Face Detection feature automatically detects up to nine faces within a scene.
The device performs precisely with large groups and when objects are distant or move within the frame. The Face Detection can also be activated when recording movies. In such cases the focus and exposure continuously is adjusted for moving subjects. The Red- Eye technology in the Canon S5 does the correction in captured images by itself. This reduces the work post- shoot, on a computer. In a playback, Red-Eye Correction uses Face Detection Technology. It checks the selected photo and removes any red-eye it detects. It can also be removed manually.
The LCD has been increased from 2.0” to 2.5” where as screen resolution is sharper at 207k pixels. The LCD can be turned in any direction to allow shooting from difficult positions. The improved low light shooting at higher ISO settings is ensured through the combination of optical IS technology and DIGIC. The slave flash setup gives extremely naturalistic or high dramatic lighting effects. The Canon S5 has a dedicated movie button that users can instantly record without wasting time in switching the modes. Stereo sound recording for a number of audio files and movies can be accommodated upto to 64 levels. Also the wind noise filter helps to get a clear, crisp sound quality. The Canon S5 has a selection of 22 different shooting modes ranging from variety of automatic as well as full Manual mode.
The Canon S5 has a number of benefits and will be of great use to photographers. The Canon S5 has a dedicated print button for quick access for printing options. The camera also contains the auto exposure bracketing. The real-time live histogram is another feature of this product.
