Sony is one of the most well known companies in the digital camera market. Sony’s CyberShot range is one of the most diverse and sophisticated amongst its competitors. The Sony DSC-H20 was released in April 2009 in Europe and North America and was launched in India during the next few months.

The Sony DSC-H20 has dimensions of 4.3 x 2.8 x 1.9 inches and it weighs around 280 grams making it a little on the bulky side. The Sony DSC-H20 is a 10 megapixel camera and one of its main features is its 10x zoom capable lens. It also features a 3 inch LCD capable of 230K dots. The Sony DSC-H20 is not too portable and you won’t be able to fit it in a pocket, requiring a case of some sort. The controls on the camera are perfectly sized allowing you to access all the cameras features with ease. One of the main complaints with the Sony DSC-H20 is that it has a physical lens cap. This means that you must remember to take off the cap every time you want to take some photographs as if you don’t, you’ll have to remove it, then turn the camera off and on again. Another problem is that the lens of the camera is narrow rather than wide and this can particularly cause some problems during indoor shooting or group photographs.

A variety of modes can be selected on the Sony DSC-H20. There is a Manual mode that allows you to tweak settings as you want them, there is Sony Intelligent Auto that allows you to choose from 8 preset scenes and automatically turns on face detection and image stabilization and there is also Program Auto which lets you have the best of both worlds. There is a Scene mode that gives you the option to choose from 10 less common scene conditions such as fireworks, gourmet, beach etc. to allow you to take the best picture for those conditions. There is also an Advanced Sports Mode that works best at taking fast moving pictures. The other two modes are an Easy mode for novice users and a Movie mode that lets you shoot 720p HD video.

The Sony DSC-H20 needs just 1.5 seconds to take a shot from start up and time between shots is 2.1 seconds for bright light and just 2.8 seconds when using flash. Continuous shooting can give you 1.7 frames per second and shutter lag is decent at 0.4 seconds in normal light and 0.7 seconds in dim light. The Sony DSC-H20 provides admirable photo quality though at ISO 800 and above taking prints isn’t recommended due to noise. Colours appear natural and bright though not overly so and the lens is extremely sharp. The camera is also great for night photography and its image stabilization works perfectly.

Overall the Sony DSC-H20 provides above average photo quality with great ease of use and functionality that makes it accessible to everyone. There are a few sore points such as the lens cap but it’s easy to look past them. You can buy the Sony DSC-H20 from anywhere in India for a price of Rs. 19000 and many dealers throw in a lot of free stuff like extra batteries, scratch guards etc.

Sony is one of the largest manufacturers of digital cameras in the industry. The variety of digital cameras available is something that Sony prides itself on. There are a number of different cameras available with features catering to both beginners and professionals alike. Sony’s Cybershot series is undoubtedly one of the most famous amongst digital cameras, even amongst rival companies like Kodak, Olympus, Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, etc. The Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 was released internationally in the fourth quarter of 2009 and received a good critical reception.

With the Cybershot DSC-WX1, Sony has gone for a sleek and stylish finish. The camera is 3.6 x 2 x 0.8 inches and weighs less than 150 grams. The screen is a 2.7 inch LCD with a resolution of 230K dots. One of the main features of the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 is that its sensor and lens are the same as used on higher end Sony dSLR cameras. The lens is wide-angle and is capable of 5x zoom. From a usage point of view, the button placement is good with only three buttons on top- Power, shutter release and high speed photography. As in most new Sony Cybershot cameras, the menu button is used for almost all the camera functions except mode selection.

One of the main features of the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 is that due to its extremely fast image processor and its high end sensor and lens, it is capable of clicking pictures in extremely low light. This works perfectly during twilights, for which there is a separate mode, as well as for any low light scene where a flash would disrupt the image or where a regular camera would suffer from motion blur. The fastest shutter speed is 2 seconds which is one of the few negative points in the camera with virtually no chromatic aberrations or color distortion. The optical zoom of 5x is high in its category and can even be used during video mode where you can shoot movies in 720p HD quality. The time to take a picture is extremely low both between start up and between shots and is only about 1.5-1.7 seconds and 2.3 seconds with flash. The Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 has a burst fire mode that works perfectly and can click 10 frames per second.

Photograph quality is above average but is not extraordinary as some users might expect due to the high end lens and sensor. Indoors and outdoors the camera gives good quality photographs with or without flash, but at and above ISO 1600, noise is apparent. Colors on the other hand are perfectly represented and are vibrant and natural. The panoramic shot is one of the highlights of this model with an easy to use one click mode.

The internal memory in the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 specifications is 11MB and is expandable through Sony’s Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo memory cards. A larger capacity card is recommended as images tend to be 3 MB or larger, not to mention shooting 720p HD movies would hog space. The battery life is good and can capture 350 shots and run for 175 minutes continuously.

Overall the Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 is a simple camera without too many shooting modes or other bells and whistles but in its category it is an above average performer with some fun features and modes. The Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 is available to buy at a price of about Rs.20000 all over India.

Sony and its CyberShot brand have become a name synonymous with digital cameras. The Sony DSC T70 was released in the market in February 2008. At this time its specifications were top of the line and the introduction of smile detection, image stabilization and a large touch screen were some of its most attractive features.

The Sony DSC T70 is an 8.1 megapixel camera with a CCD imaging sensor and 3x optical zoo with a Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar lens that also features image stabilization. The dimensions of the Sony DSC T70 are 9cm x 5.6cm x 2cm making it slim and portable. The weight too is only about 130gms making the Sony DSC T70 extremely light given its robust features. One of the outstanding features of the Sony DSC T70 is its crisp and clear LCD touch screen that despites its great looks, is one of the shortcomings of this camera. A number of issues plague the touch screen, selections are too small to be easy to pick, requiring the use of the attached stylus. However, even with the stylus, the screen feels unresponsive and you may sometimes have to press hard and repeatedly to make a selection. This also slows down navigating the menus especially because you’re frequently asked to confirm your selections.

Other features such as the image stabilization work well, especially when zoomed, although the smile detection mode does have its quirks. The camera automatically detects faces and will take a snap automatically when the person smiles in the Smile Shutter mode. However, to retake a photograph you must first stop smiling then smile again in order for the camera to recognize it. There are also a number of preset programs available such as snow, beach, twilight, high sensitivity etc.

The Sony DSC T70 takes about 1.5 seconds to start-up and another 1.3 seconds between shots without flash and 3 seconds with flash. Shutter lag is 0.4 seconds at high contrast and 1.2 at low contrast. From a performance point of view, the Sony DSC T70 performs admirably. Colours are almost perfectly represented and the white balance does a good job of counteracting colour in overly bright conditions. The Sony DSC T70 performs well both indoors and outdoors and at all optical zoom levels. Lowlight conditions without flash aren’t too great but the flash performs well without being too harsh.

The Sony DSC T70 has both USB connectivity and a Composite AV output. There is 31mb of inbuilt memory but it can be increased with any of Sony’s Memory Stick Duo cards. The Sony DSC T70 features a Lithium ion battery that will last you about 270 shots or so.

The Sony DSC T70 is available in India at any of the various Sony showrooms across the country as also in electronics shops such as Croma, Next, Vijay Sales, JP Electronics etc. The price of the Sony DSC T70 is in the region of Rs. 11000-13000 with many showrooms offering memory cards or free battery packs.

Overall the Sony DSC T70 is a stylish camera and a solid performer that is unfortunately let down by one of its star features- its touch screen.

The 8 mega pixel W90 is low cost pocket sized camera which is meant for those users who rate the pictures based on the memories that are attached to them and not the sharpness and colour composition of the images.

The W90 has a very stylish feel to it and would blend into anyone’s style. It has dimensions of 91 x 58 x 22.9 mm and weighs as low as 124 g without batteries. The rectangular shape coupled with its compact features make the W90 an extremely portable device. The camera has a 3x optical zoom and 2.5 inch 115K Pixel TFT LCD Screen. Along with the 2.5 inch LCD monitor it also has a traditional eye view finder. The camera also includes a live histogram display which can be used while capturing and playback. It also boosts a new face detection technology and a noise reduction technology which starts working automatically while capturing image having long exposures.

Looking at the image quality of the W90, it can best described as average. While taking pictures the camera lacks sharpness and the clarity of the photographs produced are not up to the mark. These limitations are especially noticed while taking pictures outdoors. When looking at the colours produced they are vibrant and have natural feel to them. The colour balance is maintained well. When the 3x optical zoom is used the camera performs well with the subjects captured properly but it does affect the colour balance to some extent. The camera as is true for most cameras developed by Sony performs best when used in low lighting conditions. The images obtained are well focused and sharpness is maintained. Marco shots taken from the W90 are creditable but not brilliant. The ISO sensitivities have a large range with the maximum ISO setting going as high as ISO 3200. Images taken in high ISO has the issue of noise interference playing a major role. When images are taken in lower ISO settings they come out much better. Overall the camera performs as one would expect it to perform considering the price range, nothing special but nothing bad aswell.

The camera has the ability to take 1 shot in 0.17 seconds and 5 consecutive shots in 5.45 seconds. With the use of flash this increases to 0.30 for 1 and 13.75 for 5 but still it remains extremely fast. The camera has shutter speeds between 1/4 – 1/1600 seconds in Auto, 1 – 1/1600 seconds in Program Auto and 1 – 1/2000 seconds in Program. The aperture range is F2.8 – F8 (Wide) and F5.2 – F14.8 (Tele). The camera has a built in flash and the various flash modes present in the camera are Auto, Fill, Red Eye Reduction and Slow Synch. The different white balance options in the W90 are Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Incandescent and Flash. To makes the pictures livelier one can make use of the different colour modes such as Vivid, Natural, Sepia and Black & White. The ISO settings range from ISO 100 – ISO 3200. The different Scene modes in the camera are Beach, High Sensitivity, Landscape, Snow, Soft Snap, Twilight and Twilight Portrait.

The image sizes available in the W90 are 3264×2448, 3264×2176, 2592×1944, 2048×1536, 1920x1080and 640×480. Images are stored in JPEG format and movies are captured in MPEG format. During purchase the W90 already is equipped with 31MB of internal memory and for increasing it one can make use of Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick Duo PRO Media. The photographer can also make use of the inbuilt self timer which can delay the picture to be taken by 10 seconds maximum. It has a Video Out option aswell as a USB 2.0 high speed terminal. Movies are captured in two formats, 640×480 VX Fine w/audio @ 30 fps which requires the presence of memory stick duo pro and 640×480 VX @ 16fps. For power the camera use Lithium-Ion NP-BG1 3.6V battery.

The W90 is an easy to use pocket sized camera and has a very cool look to it. Everything about this camera let it be looks or features or simple approach is appealing. The only place where W90 can be made an even better camera is by improving the image quality which seems to lack sharpness and focus in more than one instance.

The Sony DSC-P93 mainly depicts Sony’s hold in digcam market place. It has a 5.1 mega pixel CCD and a 3x optical zoom. Having dimensions of 4.75 x 2.38 x 1.31 inches this elongated looking camera is extremely portable and can be easily carried around in a person’s pocket from one place to another.

The camera has a peculiar and unique shape as any of the other Sony P series cameras thus allowing photographers to grip it with ease. Weighing 8 ounces along with battery and media Sony DSC-P93 has a built in lens cover which automatically slides open and closes when the camera is switched on and off respectively. The camera has preset scene modes along with automatic exposure control and creative Picture Effects menu to provide the best possible pictures.

A 3x, 7.9-23.7mm lens is what Sony DSC-P93 comes equipped with. Normal focus ranges from approximately 19.75 inches to infinity at wide-angle or 23.6 inches to infinity at telephoto. A special feature in Sony DSC-P93 is AF illuminator lamp, present in the front side and helps in getting quality pictures when light conditions are dim. P93 allows 12x of digital zoom and has the Sony’s “Smart zoom” feature. A 1.6 inch colour LCD monitor coupled with real-image optical viewfinder is some of the other attributes present in DSC-P93. Exposure can be changed depending upon the condition around and if not comfortable one can use the default settings as well.

But if you want more controls then the manual exposure mode is also available which allows control on both shutter speed and aperture. Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Candle, Landscape, Beach, and Soft Snap are the screen capture modes which are available along with movie capture and play back mode. The LCD screen displays information of both aperture and shutter speed, thus providing the user with required information. Options such as White Balance, Focus, Metering Mode, Compensation, ISO, Picture Quality, Flash Level, Sharpness, Saturation, Contrast and Picture Effects are also available for the user to make the required adjustments.

In movie capture mode P93 can capture video in 640 x 480 or 160 x 112 pixel resolution. The size of the movie depends upon the memory available and the movie has audio as well. It stores the video in MPEG4 format while using the 640 x 480 resolution. The multi burst mode can capture 16 snaps of low quality depending upon the option choosen. It also has Self-Timer mode which has a time interval of 10 seconds between the button being pressed and the photo being taken thus allowing the photographer to press the button and then run around to the front of the camera for the photograph.

The P93 is equipped with a 32 MB memory stick and can be upgraded up to a maximum of 1GB. It supports Sony Memory Sticks, if one wants to increase the memory. The camera makes use of two AA batteries, and comes with a set of two rechargeable NiMH AAs and a battery charger. P93 takes around 2.6 seconds to start up and be ready to take the first shot. 3.4 – 10 seconds for shutting down while its shutter lag speed is an impressive 0.20 seconds.

The Sony DSC-P93 fells like a lower version of Sony’s DSC-W1 compact rangefinder-style model in more than one way. The seven screen modes to choose from along with the manual mode if greater control is wanted over the picture provides a very similar kind of feeling. This one is for all those novice consumers who want to obtain a nice snap without going into much detail of exposure decisions.

The highly anticipated Sony Alpha DLSR A700 is the second DLSR model to be released by Sony and the first that has been completely been developed by Sony. Unlike its predecessor the A100 this provides higher resolutions and its features are more powerful hence attracting novice and semi-professional photographers.

The Sony A700 is of 12.2 mega pixels and has the new CMOS sensor. This makes it the highest resolution alpha body, and thus making it more technologically advanced than the existing 10 mega pixel DLSRs. This works with a 1.5x focal length multiplexer. The A700 is made up of a mixture of aluminum alloy and polycarbonate. One aspect of A700 is that its water proof and dust proof because of details such as closure of covers etc. Just below 800 grams and 778 without a lens dose not make it uncomfortable to hold and people can work properly with the camera being held in their hands without much of a problem. The LCD screen of the A700 is large, sharp, and beautiful. The 3 inch high resolution LCD definitely adds to its impressive list of features. Nowadays nearly every digital camera has the feature of TV output and even component option for analogue HD connectivity been given with higher quality models but the A700 goes a step further through a HDMI port for full digital HD output.

Along with the high tech features, the Sony Alpha A700 does provide some traditional features which are mostly found in a semi-pro DLSR to make sure that A700 is appreciated by high end photographers as well. The features you would find in a A700 are PC Sync port for external lighting, 5fps continuous shooting, 11-area AF system, interchangeable focusing screens, buttons offering direct access to key settings, both thumb and finger dials, the choice of uncompressed and compressed RAW files, 6400 ISO sensitivity and an optional battery / portrait grip. One might find the absence of secondary status screen a bit problematic due to the lack of shooting information available but superb 3inch colour monitor does go on to fulfill its absence to a huge extent.

The Sony A700 employs an Alpha range mount and is also compatible with other range of Sony lenses. The A700 has a built in Super Steady Shot stabilizer and uses the physical sized sensor thus reducing the field of view of all lenses by 1.5 times. The three different lens bundle present in A700 are DT 18-70mm (the standard A100 bundle), the DT 16-80mm (a premium general purpose zoom from Carl Zeiss), and the DT 16-105mm (a new general purpose lens introduced with the A700).

The Sony A700 has a new 11-point AF system which is diamond-shaped with two points at fairly wide positions for better tracking of subject off-centre. The A700 has an LED-type AF illuminator along with a quieter and faster new coreless AF motor. The four focusing modes of A700 are single-shot AF-S, direct manual focus DMF, continuous auto focus AF-C, or a hybrid AF-A mode which automatically switches between AF-S and AF-C which can be choosen by the help of a small dial to the lower right of the lens mount with the camera facing you. The Eye Start AF feature present in A700 starts the AF system when its sensors detect the camera approaching your eyes.

A proper penta-prism optical viewfinder system with 95% field of view, 0.9x magnification and a 50mm lens along with 21mm of eye relief at -1 diopter is present in an A700. Looking through the viewfinder one can see 11 AF points arranged in a diamond pattern from which 10 are short vertical or horizontal bars and leaving a small square in the middle.

With the launch of Sony Alpha A700, Sony has taken a big leap in the department of high quality DSLR camera and can now be thought of as a serious competitor for brands like Nikon and Canon who had been ruling the market for all these years.

DLSR-A100 having a 10.2 mega pixel sensor marks the entry of Sony into the digital SLR market. The Alpha DLSR-A100 is developed by Sony in association with Konica Minolta. When you first get a feel of DLSR-A100 it does not seem to justify its price tag and brand name. With its plastic exterior it gives a toy feeling to the camera. Even the Compact Flash door, built-in flash and battery chamber door makes the feeling even stronger but the Sony AlphaDLSR-A100 does redeem it self to certain extent with its well balanced body and deep-contoured finger grip.

The DLSR-A100 has a 2.5inch LCD screen which has an anti-reflective coating on its surface thus allowing people to view clearly from any angle. This helps in taking pictures with ease and comfort. The viewfinder in A100 is big and should make most photographers happy. The clarity of the matte screen makes focusing easier. The A-100 has two dials on top with the one on the right of the camera having options like a point & shoot automatic mode, six preset scene programs along with four creative manual modes. The one on the left provides features such as D-Range optimization, colour settings, white-balance, flash exposure compensation, ISO sensitivity, focusing mode and metering mode. The exposure mode dial, exposure compensation and drive mode buttons are the other features also present on the A100.

A100 comes with a ‘M’ series lithium-ion battery but the battery meter is not available in this DLSR camera causing a few problems for the user as he dose not get to know at any time the amount of battery left. One aspect that A100 has is the ability to keep the battery in place due to the blue chip present inside even when the battery door is accidentally open. Carl-Zeiss lenses along with the range of Minolta lenses can be used in the A100. Sony and Minolta Dynax flashguns and accessories can be used for the A100 due to the Dynax hotshoe which the camera uses. The A100 supports Compact Flash memory card and has a slot present on one side of the camera.

The shooting area is where the A100 excels. It is quick and responds faster than most other cameras of its type and the eye start system brings the camera into action the moment it senses your eyes nearing the view finder area. The image quality provided by A100 is sharp and clear. Following the rule-of-thirds areas of the frame thus making the creative composition of the off center subjects easier and simpler. The Super Steady Shake mechanism provides great pictures even with camera shakes and the A100 also implement the CCD-shift system which shakes off dust particles which might be present on the sensor while the camera is closed. The D-Range Optimizer which the camera employs helps during high contrast shooting conditions by adjusting exposure and contrasts.

The flash in the A100 needs to be lifted up physically as no specified button or function is present to activate it. Even with the flash whose powerful looks are a bit deceptive the photos are not outstanding. They can be best said as average. Shooting capabilities are good only if you are taking still shots with minimal or no movement. But try taking shots of moving objects and the camera falters to some extent. Even in Continuous AF it improves but nothing outstanding. The quality of the camera improves greatly when you use a heavy lens, something like 35mm f/1.4 G. Picture quality improves even in low light and the A100 seems a completely different camera all together.

One part where the camera does make you irritate is it’s noisy, like the noise created by the Super Steady Shot when the shutter is pressed. The rubber door for the USB does not ooze class. It just does not provide the confidence that it will last other than making the camera look more like a toy which it anyway looks like. But if you can see over the looks and hear over the sound then this quick responsive camera with good picture quality might just be the one for you.

The P92 is a point and shoot 5mega pixel camera with a 3 x optical zoom. This has a high resolution Sony imager which is used by the camera for capturing the perfect picture. The P92 falls in the category of the best point and shoot camera that Sony has to offer.

The P92 has dimensions of 119.4 x 58.4 x 33.0 mm and weighs around 259g with battery and memory card. In all the P92 is an average sized point and shoot camera and in all fairness a bit bigger than what most would prefer a point and shoot camera to be. Along with the 3 x optical zoom the P92 also has a 4 x digital zoom. The focal length of the P92 ranges between 7.9mm to 23.7mm which is equivalent to 38mm to 114mm on a 35mm film camera. Largest aperture for focal length is f/2.8 to f/5.6. Along with 5mega pixel sensor the camera also has support for 4mega pixel, 3.1 mega pixel, 1.2 mega pixel and VGA mode.

The P92 has a 1.5″ TFT LCD screen and an optical real-image viewfinder aswell. The LCD screen although takes more energy but provides better framing than the optical real-image viewfinder. Pictures are stored in JPEG format with P 92 having resolutions of 2592×1944, 2592×1728, 2048×1536, 1280×960 and 640×480.

The exposure composition supported by P92 ranges between -2.0 and 2.0 EV in 1/3 stop. It also has support for flash compensation having ratings of low, normal, and high. The camera has two auto focus modes, multi and center mode. In the multi mode the camera makes use of wider set of AF sensors and attempts to pick the right focus spot itself while in the center mode the AF sensors are in the center of the view finder and one need to manually re-compose the picture. The P92 allows manual focus at pre defined distances of 0.5m, 1.0m, 3.0m, 7.0m, and infinity. In standard AF the focusing ranges between 19.7″ (50cm) to Infinity and for A/F Macro this increases to 3.9″(10cm) to Infinity. The aperture control ranges between f/2.8 to 8.0 while the shutter control is between 2 seconds to 1/2000 seconds.

There are 3 ISO levels that the photographer can make us of which includes ISO 100, 200 and 400. An auto mode is also available where the camera decides which ISO level to be chosen in order to get the proper picture. The camera like most of the other Sony cameras tends to over expose pictures to some extent. Solarize, sepia, black & white and negative art are the special effects made available in the P92. This is place where Sony is usually good but with such few options things might be as good as one would have hoped for. But still even with that, the effects used do provide good results. In the macro mode the camera dose not obtain the desired level with the minimum focus distance being half feet. There are five scene modes to select from helping the camera to take a snap using its optimum settings. The Scene modes include Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Landscape, Snow and Beach. The various white balance options are Automatic, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent and Incandescent. The camera has an inbuilt flash to help take pictures in dark conditions. The various flash modes available are Auto flash, Red eye reduction, Fill-in, Slow Synchro and Flash off.

One can take movies in two resolutions, 160 x 120 and 320 x 240. The capturing time of the movies is largely dependent on two factors, one being the amount of space available and the second being the resolution being used. P92 also captures sounds while capturing the movies. Movies are stored in MPEG format and have a speed of 16 frames per second. The P92 has a self timer which can delay the picture to be taken by 12 seconds maximum. For powering purposes the camera uses 2 x AA NiMH rechargeable batteries.

The camera has 16MB of memory already present during purchase and is compatible with Memory Stick and Memory Stick Pro. This increases the memory be a maximum of 1GB providing more storage space but dose not have support for high speed transfer function and access control security function. The outer connectors present in the P92 are USB 2.0, Audio-Video and DC input thus making it compatible with computers and television sets.

Over all the P92 is an average sized point and shoot camera which provides good picture quality and being one of the best point and shoot cameras available in the market it is surely worth a look.

The T200 is an ultra slim 8 mega pixel camera by Sony. This has a host of impressive features which would surely make it a success. One such impressive feature is an extra large 3.5 inch touch screen. The size of the camera especially its breadth makes it easily portable. Other features included in the T200 are detection software, image stabilization, HD TV output and in camera retouching for red eye.

The T200 has dimensions of 93.5 x 59.3 x 20.4mm and weighs around 160g. This has a Steady Shot Image Stabilization for improving the quality of the pictures and removing the shakes which might occur while photographing. The T200 has an aperture range of F3.5 – F10. It boosts a 3.5″ 230K pixel Touch panel Clear Photo LCD plus screen which surely is something everyone would like.

The various white balance options available are Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent (1, 2, and 3), Incandescent and Flash. It also has colour mode options such as Black & White, Natural, Sepia and Vivid. For obtaining the perfect picture the T200 also comes with a large variety of scene modes which include Beach, Fireworks, High Sensitivity, High Speed Shutter, Landscape, Snow, Soft Snap, Twilight, Twilight Portrait and Smile Shutter. The various still image modes available are JPEG (Fine), Burst, Exposure Bracketing.

The T200 handles outdoor shots well with sharpness level maintained all over the pictures. The picture quality is better than most of the other cameras in the same range. Clarity level is good and lighting in general is handled well. When zoom is not used the camera is still able to maintain the sharpness. Outdoor shots might result in lose of some amount of detailing of the subject. During indoor shots the T200 works well with the camera maintaining the depth of the colour. With flash turned on the T200 automatically increases the ISO setting thus copping with the loss of light, although this might result in some noise interference being produced. Some red eye might be visible but this can be removed easily by the use of the right software. In indoor shots with flash not being used the photos come out a bit on the dark side. The ISO level is increased even more which results in more noise interference. Colours produced are vibrant and has a very natural feel to them. The T200 performs well in macro mode, providing sharp and focused pictures. Large variety of ISO levels are present in the T200 which includes Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200. Pictures taken in ISO 400 are good with some noise interference but largely better than most of the other brands present in the market. One should try and keep away from ISO 3200 with picture quality being extremely poor. Overall looking at the performance of the T200 it provides an impressive set of pictures what ever be the situation and is surely in the picture quality aspect one the best pocket sized cameras available in the market currently.

This clock an impressive shutter lag times of 1/4 to 1/1000 sec. T200 can take a single shot in 0.15 seconds and five consecutive shots in 6.97 seconds. With flash turned on the camera takes 0.48 seconds for a single picture and 12.53 seconds for five pictures. Both timings are extremely fast and very respectable as compared to most of the other cameras in the market. One can also use the self timer which can delay the photograph to be taken by a maximum of 10 seconds. Movies can be recorded in various modes like MPEG VX Fine with Audio (640 x 480 at 30fps), MPEG VX Standard with Audio (640 x 480 at 16.6fps) and Presentation Mode (320 x 240 at 8.3fps). Movies records the environment sounds aswell something that you might find absent in most of the other cameras of this range. The T200 has a burst mode of 100 shots at 2.2fps for all resolutions.

Info Lithium NP-BD1 3.6v 680mAh are used by the T200 for powering purposes. This has a 31MB of inbuilt memory and is compatible with Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo High Speed and Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo. T200 has various camera terminals which include Video Output, HD Output and USB Terminal, so that it can be connected to computers and televisions.

Overall the T200 is surely one of the best if not the best pocket sized camera available in the market currently. Not only does it provide longer zoom and extra features but it also proves to be the best in the department on which any camera is rated, picture quality.
