Nikon P50

The NIKON P50 is a camera which has nothing great. The camera has features but none of them are outstanding. The NIKON P50 is also very sluggish at times. The NIKON P50 is the predecessor of the NIKON P60. The NIKON P50 has a 1/2.5 " (5.75 x 4.31 mm, 0.24 cm²) CCD image processing sensor with 8 million effective pixels. The sensor itself is not so good. The pixel density of the camera is 33 MP/cm².

Nikon P50

The NIKON P50 has ISO Auto (64 – 1000), 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 and 2000. The ISO speed is good and the images are not so bad in the damp lighted areas. The NIKON P50 has only 3.6x optical zoom and also the wide zoom range is 28 mm and Tele range is 102mm. The camera also has a 3x digital zoom. The NIKON P50 does not even have digital image stabilization. This is very bad as the images are blurred because of the shaking of the hands.

The camera has a TTL auto focus however it lacks manual focus which is again a demerit. The Normal focus range is 50cm and the Macro range is 5cm. The aperture range of the lens is F2.8 – F5.6. The minimum shutter speed of the camera is 4 sec and the maximum speed is 1 / 1000 sec. There is also a built in flash the range of which is 6.9m. No external flash can be attached to the NIKON P50. The flash options are Auto, Fill-in and Red-Eye reduction, slow and off.

The NIKON P50 has a Shutter priority and an aperture priority. The INKON P50 lacks a focal length multiplier. The NIKON P50 also records movies. The resolution of the movies is 640 x 480 at 15/30 fps, 320 x 240 at 15 fps and 160 x 120 at 15 fps. There is also a self timer with a delay of 3 – 10 sec. The NIKON P50 inbuilt memory is 52 MB and the memory can be expanded by using a SD / MMC / SDHC card. There are Normal and High quality levels. The NIKON P50 has a 2.4 inch LCD screen which has a resolution of 115000 pixels.

Nikon P50

The NIKON P50 provides connectivity b6y its USB port which has a speed of 480Mbit/sec. The one good thing about the camera is that it s powered by AA sized alkaline batteries which are very easily available everywhere. They can also be replaced by Ni-MH rechargeable batteries which are more economical.

Nikon P50

The NIKON P50 has dimensions of 95 x 66 x 44 mm and the camera weighs 210 gm. The NIKON P50 has no extraordinary features which would make it a good option worth buying. The NIKON P50 is available at a Price of Rs.15000/-. The camera is way too expensive and not even worth the amount.
