Olympus T100
The OLYMPUS T100 is a very good low budget camera introduced by OLYMPUS in the markets. The camera has all the required features which are present in a decent camera. The OLYMPUS T100 has been introduced in the market with a view to capture most of the market share as it is good and very affordable.
The OLYMPUS T100 has a 12 megapixel imaging sensor with a focal lens of 6.3 – 18.9mm. The focus adjustment is automatic. There is TTL contrast detection also in the OLYMPUS T100. The minimum focus range is 26.3in and the macro focus range is 5cm. It has a built-in lens shield which protects the lens from the external objects. The ISO speed is from 80 – 1600 with auto mode. There is also a movie shooting mode. There are different shooting modes like Pet, Candle, Indoor, Sunset, Cuisine, Documents, Fireworks, Landscape, Anti shake, Night mode, Sports mode, Portrait mode, Self-portrait and Night portrait. There are also special effects like Drawing, Fisheye, Pop Art and Pin Hole. There is an ELECTRONIC IMAGE STABILIZER which reduces the blur from the images. The maximum shutter speed is 1/2000 seconds and the minimum shutter speed is 4 seconds.
The images are stored in a JPEG format and the movies are stored in an AVI or MJPEG format. The memory can be expanded by inserting a SD Memory Card. The built in memory is 10.8 MB. The OLYMPUS T100 has a built in flash and the flash options are Auto mode, Fill-in mode, Flash OFF mode and Red-eye reduction. There is a red – eye reduction mode in which the red eye can be edited post clicking the picture.
The OLYMPUS T100 has a self – timer mode in which the shutter release can be delayed from 2 sec – 12 sec. The OLYMPUS T100 has additional features like DPOF support, Direct print, Face detection, Audio recording, Cropping an image, Resizing an image, Exif Print support, PictBridge support, Built-in help guide, PRINT Image Matching, In-camera red-eye fix, USB 2.0 compatibility, Digital image rotation, In-camera lighting fix, Digital noise reduction, RGB primary color filter, Display brightness control, Scene Detection Technology, Digital image stabilization and Advanced Face Detection Technology.
The OLYMPUS T100 has a 2.4 in LCD display with TFT active matrix. The LCD has 112320 pixels. The resolution of the LCD is not so great. There is a built – in microphone which records sound while recording videos. There is a USB port with the help of which the OLYMPUS T100 can be connected to the computer and file transfer is possible. The OLYMPUS T100 is powered by an Olympus LI-80B Li-ion rechargeable battery. The capacity of the battery is 190 shots which depend on the shooting mode selected.
The Olympus T100 Price is approx Rs.5500. Thus the camera is extremely affordable. The camera is not very recommendable as there are other OLYMPUS cameras which cost a slight higher than this one but there is a lot of difference in the features offered by them.
