The Panasonic LUMIX DMC FS15 is a slim and compact digital camera which has a body similar to the FS 42 and FS62. The camera body is made of metal. The camera feels rich when held in hand unlike other plastic cameras. The Panasonic FS 15 was launched on 25 May 2009.
The Panasonic FS 15 has a CCD imaging sensor, the size of which is 1/2.33 " (6.13 x 4.60 mm, 0.28 cm²) with 12.7 million total pixels. The Pixel Density is 43 MP/cm². The ISO Sensitivity of the camera is 40 – 1600 and it is 1600 – 6400 without boost. The camera processor due to a low ISO delivers satisfactory results.

No external flash can be attached to the camera.
The camera besides capturing stills also shoots movies. The movies are shot at three different resolutions. They are 840 x 480, 640 x 480 and 320 x 240. The recording speed for all the resolutions is the same. It is 30 frames per second. There is also an orientation sensor in the camera. The self timer is also present in the Panasonic FS15. The in – built memory of the Panasonic FS15 is 50 MB. The camera’s memory can be expanded by inserting SD or SDHC memory cards into the memory card slot provided in the camera. The cards up to a storage capacity of 32GB are compatible with the camera.
There is no viewfinder in the camera. The LCD screen on the back acts as the viewfinder. The LCD screen is a 2.7 inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 230000 pixels. The screen is large compared to the other FS series cameras and also the resolution is high. To increase connectivity, a 2.0 USB port has been provided on the camera. The battery that powers the camera is a Lithium-Ion NP-20 battery. The battery is the same that is used by FS42 and FS62.
The Dimensions of the camera are 97 x 55 x 22 mm (3.8 x 2.2 x 0.9 in) and the camera weighs 130 gm approx. The camera is priced at Rs.8000/-. The Panasonic FS15 is not the best in the market but it is a realty good option and the camera has a good value for its money.
