Samsung PL55
The SAMSUNG PL55 is a smart and compact digital camera. The camera has a very bold look and it is a very user oriented and an easy to use camera. The features are just great and the camera is a perfect point and shoot digital camera.
The Samsung PL55 has a 7.79mm (2.3) CCD imaging sensor with a 12.2megapixel lens with the focal length of 6.0 – 31.5mm. The PL55 has an in house Samsung lens. There is a digital zoom which ranges from 1x – 10.2x. There is also a TTL Auto Focus (Center AF, Multi AF). The Samsung PL55 is ISO equivalent and the ISO speed is auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1,600, and 3,200 (up to 3M). There is also a flash mode which has different options from Auto, Auto & Red-eye reduction, Fill-in flash, Slow sync, Flash Off and Red-eye fix. The range of the flash is Wide: 0.4m ~ 3.4m, Tele: 0.5m ~ 2.1m.
The Samsung PL55 has an internal memory of 55MB and this can be extended with the help of SD card up to 4 GB, MMC plus up to 2 GB and SDHC up to 8 GB. There are different image play options which range from Single image, Thumbnails, Multi Slide show, Movie Clip and Smart Album. There are also image editing features like Resize, Rotate, Photo Style Selector and Image Adjust.
There is an internal microphone as well as a speaker. The SAMSUNG PL55 can be connected to a computer using a USB high speed 2.0 interface. The Dimension of the Samsung PL55 is 97.0 x 59.0 x 24.5mm and the weight is 139 gm without the battery and approx 160 gm with the battery inserted. The operating temperature is 0 ~ 40°C and operating humidity is 5 ~ 85%. The display is a TFT type 2.7’’ LCD screen with a resolution of 230000 pixels.
The Samsung PL55 shutter speed varies in the different modes selected. In the auto mode it is 1 ~ 1/2,000 second (AEB, Continuous 1/4 ~ 1/2,000 second) and in the night mode it is 8 ~ 1/2,000 second Fireworks: 2 seconds. There are different scene modes like Smart, Auto, Program, DIS, Photo Help Guide, Beauty Shot, Scene, Movie) Frame Guide, Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-up, Text, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Firework, Beach & Snow. There is also a self timer with a 2 – 10 sec delay. The Samsung PL55 records movies with Movie Size: 640 x 480, 320 x 240.
The Samsung PL55 is powered by a SLB-10A (1050mAh) rechargeable battery which lasts for 200 shots approx and 4 hours of playback time. The Samsung PL55 is available at a price of Rs.15000. The Samsung PL55 is overall a good buy.
